    Of the three sprinkler repair companies I contacted, Hessenauer was the only one to respond. They provided a date and time, and they arrived on schedule. They did a thorough inspection and fixed multiple problems for a reasonable cost. They are now my "go to" sprinkler repair company.

    Eric has been out here twice to correct everyone else's mistakes and I am so grateful.  I finally have my irrigation system working as it should.  This is a quality company with excellent workers who know their stuff. I'm glad I found them.

    Eric was out today to repair 3 valves damaged by a lightning hit.  Was on-time, communicated his arrival, and clearly explained the problem.   Very professional.  Emma also was a pleasure to deal with when making the appointment.  Will definitely use them again.

    Could not have worked with a better team. They came out, heard what I wanted, then validated that it was needed, and gave me a quote. They did a lot of repairs on my old system and it is up and running again.     I was impressed with Hessenauer Irrigation.  Jay did a great job replacing an old irrigation clock.  He didn't stop there, he checked each of my 4 zones and replaced a few heads that needed to be replaced.  I'm saving their contact info and will definitely use them next time I need any work done!

Flooding and water intrusion can be caused by leaky pipes, which can go on to cause more serious issues such as water damage to the home, wood rot and mold and mildew. The intention is to halt irrigation leakage problems at the root, to avoid water leaks entirely. Today we are going to explore some causes for water leaks and broken pipes.

Water leaks are most common from cracked, broken water pipes. Cracked pipes can result from a variety of different circumstances, including deterioration and the shifting of the landscape or earth. One common way that water irrigation pipes can crack is by what is known as “root intrusion”. As a tree grows, the roots beneath the ground grow proportionately to the growth of the parts above ground such as the trunk, limbs, branches and leaves. This growth can impose on the underground pipes, causing stress that eventually breaks them.

Seal leaks could be another problematic situation for a sprinkler irrigation system. Dirt and debris can wear out rubber seal leaks and require entire sprinkler heads to be replaced, although in some instances the problem could be alleviated by screwing off and replacing the top of the sprinkler head.

Your sprinkler irrigation system can be the victim to leaking valves and pipes. These hazards can occur as a result of aging or damage from weather, physical damage, tree roots, vandalism or from shovels or other sharp tools. Leaks may be large and obvious or smaller and require detective work to locate. Replacement or repair of damaged valves and pipes should solve the leakage issues.

Broken sprinkler heads occur because visitors step on them or lawn maintenance and bicylists run the sprinkler heads over. Leaks in the pipelines can be difficult to detect because they are commonly underground, and our experts are on your side.

There are reasons why a sprinkler will leak water when the system is supposed to be off. The most common reason is called “Low Head Drainage”, which occurs when the lowest head on a zone allows water to drain from the lateral piping, out of the sprinkler. If it is low head drainage, residual water will stop flowing after all the water has left the pipe. Another reason for leaks may be water leaking through the zone valve because of debris obstructing the valve’s diaphram.
