    Of the three sprinkler repair companies I contacted, Hessenauer was the only one to respond. They provided a date and time, and they arrived on schedule. They did a thorough inspection and fixed multiple problems for a reasonable cost. They are now my "go to" sprinkler repair company.

    Eric was out today to repair 3 valves damaged by a lightning hit.  Was on-time, communicated his arrival, and clearly explained the problem.   Very professional.  Emma also was a pleasure to deal with when making the appointment.  Will definitely use them again.

    Could not have worked with a better team. They came out, heard what I wanted, then validated that it was needed, and gave me a quote.     I was impressed with Hessenauer Irrigation.  Jay did a great job replacing an old irrigation clock.  He didn't stop there, he checked each of my 4 zones and replaced a few heads that needed to be replaced.  I'm saving their contact info and will definitely use them next time I need any work done!

As spring arrives and freezing temperatures cease nationwide, it is soon time to think about sprinkler irrigation Spring start up. It is time to prepare to turn on irrigation systems and start watering again.

In order to prevent pipe or irrigation component damage, take these very important steps:

1) First, open your main water valve slowly in order to allow the pipes to fill with water gradually. Should those system valves be opened too quickly, sprinkler main lines are subjected to high surge pressures, uncontrolled flow and water hammer, which may cause them to crack or burst.

2) Verify the proper operation of each station valve by manually activating all zones from the controller.

3) Test out each station on the controller, checking for proper operation of the zones. Check for proper operating pressure (low pressure could indicate a broken line or missing or damaged sprinkler heads), proper rotation, adjustment of sprinkler heads and adequate ground coverage. Check and clean filters on poorly performing sprinklers and adjust heads to grade as necessary.

4) Reprogram the controller for automatic watering. Replace the controller back-up battery if necessary.

5) Uncover and clean the system weather sensor, if applicable.
